False Asset Declaration: Ekweremadu to face trial

For allegedly owning undeclared properties abroad, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu will next week be arraigned before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT. The Cable reports that the office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice is charging the Enugu lawmaker with "false asset declaration".
Recall that Senate President Bukola Saraki is facing similar charges at the same tribunal. His deputy, Ekweremadu is now being alleged to own assets in UAE, UK and USA. It is illegal under Nigerian law for public officials to own offshore assets or accounts. Here is the list of assets allegedly owned abroad by the Ekweremadu as published by Saharareporters.
