Zuma: Nigerians return to Okorocha's statue of ousted SA leader

Nigerians has returned to discussing the statue built by Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo State in honour of ousted South African President Jacob Zuma. Questions are being raised on the morality of building a statue in honour of a leader who resigned his postion yesterday after being tainted by scandals. Zuma was replaced by Cyril Ramaphosa.

Governor Rochas Okoracha had unveiled the Zuma statue last year, saying he is honouring him for his contribution to leadership. Many Nigerians condemned the gesture especially as it came at a time Nigerians were being killed in South Africa.

After Zuma's resignation, Nigerians returned to the topic with many wondering what Okorocha wanted to achieve. See some tweets below:

"Jacob Zuma was so bad and corrupt that South Africans had to force him to resign before the end of his term But Zuma has a statue in Nigeria for his exemplary leadership and contribution to society."

It is the question of birds of the same feather flocking together...

Nigeria is a place where incompetence is worshipped and reverred! The statue would remain a sad reminder the joke that we are as a nation!
