Benue Killings: Senate Orders IG Idris to find and arrest perpetrators within "the next 14 days"

The Nigerian Senate today deliberated on the recent bloodbath in Benue in which 72 were horribly butchered by those suspected suspected to be Fulani Herders. The upper chamber insists those responsible for the mayhem must be arrested by the Police within "the next 14 days" and that they be prosecuted by the Attorney General of Benue State. This is contained in series of tweets release on its twitter handle, Tuesday evening.

Conveying the outcome of the deliberations Bukola Saraki, Senate President said the Senate  "direct the Fed. ministry of agriculture to urgently provide facilities & empower its officers to enforce documentation protocols, quarantine animals &livestock movement at our borders"

“We want to see immediate action. One point raised here today is the issue of justice. Without justice we cannot see unity and that justice stands as one of our recommendations”.

”In the next 14 days, the Inspector General of Police must find the perpetrators, arrest them, and the Attorney General of Benue State must prosecute them. That is minimum requirement and it must happen”
