Senate to investigate the death of Nigerian girls in the Mediterranean and Sahara

The Nigerian Senate is to launch an investigation into the reported death of Nigerian women in the Mediterranean and Sahara. Two days ago, it was reported that 26 Nigerian women met their death in Mediterranean sea.
The Nigerian Senate has now mandated its committee on Diaspora to investigate the incident. This much was contained in an information released through its twitter handle, @NGRSenate on Thursday. The motion was said to have been moved by Senator Rose Oko. The tweet reads:

"Senator moves a Motion about the reported death of 26 Nigerian girls in the Mediterranean and Sahara desert."

"Senate requests the c'ttee on Diaspora to commence investigation into this unfortunate event and observes a minute of silence in honour of the deceased girls."
