Supreme Court insist Hembe must return salaries

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has insisted Hermen Hembe who it earlier on sacked from the House of Representatives must return all salaries that accrued to him as at the time he held the position. The court had sometime ago sacked the law maker who represented Vandikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency of Benue State and ordered INEC to issue a certificate of return to his opponent Mrs Dorathy Mato. The court also asked Hembe to return salaries he recieved. But Hembe went back to the court asking for a review of the ruling given that he had spent the salaries that accrued to him.
However, a five-man panel of justices led by Walter Onnoghen refused to reverse the jugdement insisting the former lawmaker must return all the emoluments paid to him.
