Police Battle Boko Haram in Kano, arrests Two

The Police in Kano State today engaged suspected Boko Haram insurgents in a gun duel after which two of the suspects were picked up.
Premium Times reports that the operation was led by a special task force set up by the Inspector General of Police.
Police Commissioner, Rabiu Yusuf, said the incident occurred around 2 a.m at Gaya in Ungogo Local Government Area.
“The police came under attack by the terrorists group at their location but were overpowered by the tactical task force. Three police officers sustained inuries and three of the Boko Haram gunned down.”
The report add that the suspects were Boko Haram members escaping from the recently cleared Sambisa Forest.
