Multiple Bomb Blasts Hit IDP Camps in Borno

At least four person have been reported dead and 13 injured after suspected Boko Haram insurgents detonated bombs in Internally Displaced Persons Camps in Maiduguri, Borno State. Premium Times reports that the explosions occurred Sunday night and early Monday morning.

Bello Danbatta spokesperson for the Civilian-JTF said “We evacuated at least four corpses and 13 injured last night when the suicide bombers sneaked into Dalori camp,”

The first attacker made it into the camp and blew himself up killing and injuring the IDPs.
“The second one exploded when the attacker, a female, was attempting to climb the perimeter fence of the second IDP camp known as Dalori (2). The third one blew off outside the fence of Dalori (1).
“We just had the fourth one this (Monday) morning and we are heading there to evacuate the casualties"
The Boko Haram insurgency has raged on since 2009 killing thousands and displacing many more. Although the Nigerian Military has cleared Sambisa Forest from where the insurgents operated, the sect has continued to attack soft spots such the University of Maiduguri and IDP Camps, in Maiduguri
